Description: ” This building located at Lebuh Armenian was constructed in the 18th century. From 1909 to 1911, it served as the base for Dr Sun Yat Sen, the leader of the historic Chinese Revolution. It was also the headquarters of the Southeast Asian branch of the Tung Meng Hooi political party. The local Chinese of that time supported Dr Sun Yat Sen in a movement against the Manchu government and the foreign imperialists in China. The shop-house has preserved its identity with its magnificent historic interior, intricately designed carved screens and air wells. In the building too, one can view, among others, a set of Dr Sun’s writing equipment, an early report on his revolution and his calligraphy works.”
